January has now ended and many people have already forgotten their New Year’s resolution. How are you doing on your 2012 commitments? If you’ve started to slack off, try to remember what motivated you to set those goals in the first place. If your goal was to become more organized, look for the nearest junk drawer or messy closet and you’ll be reminded of why you chose to declutter in 2012. Here are some easy ways to jump-start your mission to get organized:
Remember that pile of things in the garage that are set aside for donation? Put them in your trunk and drive to the nearest organization in need of donations.
Go through the pantry and toss out anything expired. While you’re at it, go through the food storage containers in your cabinets. Make sure each container has a matching lid – if it doesn’t, toss it.
Take a peek inside your linen closet. You only need one extra set of linens for each bed in the house. If you have more than that, it’s time to purge the extras.
By now you’ve heard us mention how great Space Bag To Go Bags are for reducing the amount of luggage you need when traveling. But there are a few other ways the bags can come in handy on your next trip. Check out these other uses below and let us know if you’ve discovered any other ways Space Bag takes the stress out of traveling.
Keep clean clothes spoil-free. At some point on a vacation, it becomes necessary to pack your dirty clothes back into the suitcase where some of the clean clothes still remain. Bring a few extra Space Bag To Go Bags on your next trip and place dirty items inside when you are finished wearing them. This will keep odor, dirt or stains from rubbing off on clean clothing.
Separate a child’s clothing. One way to keep getting dressed easy for children is to separate their outfits ahead of time and place each day’s wardrobe necessities in one Space Bag To Go Bag. Say goodbye to mismatched outfits!
Keep your luggage spill-proof. It only takes one time of a shampoo bottle exploding in your luggage to remember liquid items should always be kept separate from clothing. Seal shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, perfumes and any other spill-able belongings in a Space Bag To Go Bag. If something accidentally leaks, the contents will be confined to the Space Bag, leaving your clothes safe and dry.
Maintaining an organized household can be difficult, especially when children are involved. Between their growth spurts, changing interests, extra-curricular activities and other interests, kids provide many organization challenges. One thing you can easily manage is their bedrooms and play areas. Here are some tips for how to manage the mess:
Keep organization within their reach. If you have little ones, make sure closet rods, book shelves and other organizing assets are lowered to accommodate their heights.
Handle hand-me-down clutter. Store outgrown clothing in a Space Bag Storage Pack. This will save room in closets and drawers, plus the clothing will be protected until it’s ready to be passed down.
Safely store sentimental items. Space Bag products can also be used to store baby blankets and stuffed animals that kiddos aren’t quite ready to part with. By placing them in storage, the room will have more space to accommodate toys that are frequently played with and items needed on a regular basis.

The odd shape and fragility of holiday decorations make festive items difficult to store during the off-season. Luckily, you can most likely find safe storage solutions by utilizing the items already found in your home. Empty egg cartons and boxes that once held wine are both great options for storing Christmas tree ornaments. The individual compartments will keep breakables safe. Old hat boxes can be useful for storing wreaths. Faux garland, festive table runners and other plush objects can be used to cushion more fragile items in a storage box. Wrap the garland around candles or tchotchkes before putting them away. Place seasonal linens, tablecloths and throw pillows in a Space Bag Storage Pack to condense them down to one-third of their normal size. The bags will also protect these items from dust, mildew and pests.
